Thursday 30th January

I had another very busy day on Thursday 30th January. I spent sometime during the morning and afternoon dealing with e-mails and other correspondence before setting off in the afternoon to take part in an interview which was recorded and screened on Sky on Friday evening.

From there I went to Leytonstone Library in Church Lane for 6pm to take park in awarding certificates to group of Young People who were tasked to complete a project on the Celebration of the Olympics.

I was then the Guest of Honour at the Assembly Hall in Chingford where a Charity quiz night had been arranged by my Council Colleagues in aid of both my Charities. A huge £2,000 was raised, what a wonderful night and I must thank everybody who attended, and those who worked tirelessly to ensure that the evening was such a great success. During the Dragon boat Auction, One individual, offered £500 but only if management board agreed to sail on it and another £500 if I agreed to go with them. At that suggestion management board agreed to match the £500 again only if I agreed to go on the Dragon boat.

Now does anyone know what a dragon Boat is.................... Oh well it is for Charity. I wonder, Will any of you make a donation to my charity when I take part. I will be publishing Photo's of the event and hope you'll give generously.

This is a Dragon Boat, and I'm now a little nervous!!!!

Ferry Boat reopening

On Friday 24th January 2014 I had the privilege of re-opening the Ferry Boat inn, after it had been renovated. Remarkably it had only been closed for just over a week. The premises has a lovely warm feeling to it with an open fire.

Jeremy Deller exhibition at William Morris Gallery

On Friday the 17th January 2014 I attended the William Morris Gallery in Forest Road for the opening of the Jeremy Deller Art exhibition. This is a fantastic venue to stage something of this nature. The artist and members of the Gallery team were on hand to meet guests.
